Small stories of how it all went along

Archive for the month “April, 2021”

And there was a pause…

My plan will be a little delayed, though I cant really pinpoint when, but ceratianly I have to put things on hold.

I was asked to finish our properties and it is just good sense to finish it before drastically ending the story.

The coming days will be a tough road ahead and I think it can lead to arguments between us because it is about dividing our properties and it is significant amount to be had and must the fixed before leaving.

Words are forever

“Words have longevity, I dont” written by Paul Kalanithi in his book When Breath Becomes Air.

The words written in this blog, will outlive me. I hope that even I am not around anymore my words will be remembered by my kids and bring them to the whirl of how my life had been. In spite of the grammatical, spelling errors, this place is where I can be at my most honest. This about the peaks and troughs, proud, happy moments, the tons of difficult times, all those times I wanted to go on and times I wanted to give up.

Sta Cruz

After remembering Bodega bay, I switched to another place we went to at about around the same time and that is Sta Cruz, Ca. I think we visted the place twice. 1st was the world’s famous board walk and the next (or was it on the same day?) Sta Cruz Downtown.

We spent quite a fun at the board walk and I distinctly remembered the Log ride and the photos after with our scariest face as we slide down. Picking up the photos at the booth and seeing it the first time was a laugh trip. Sam made fun of me and I laughed at her photo too. I rode a mini-cable car ride around board walk with Eric. The cable car was on about 25 ft high and the breeze from the bay almost froze me to death while Eric being a snowman was unperturbed. I was a bit scared of falling and freezing.

2014 was a World Cup year and while we are walking around downtown we were catching a glimpse of a few games thru the windows of restaurants. We ate in a italian restaurant, while trying to be updated on the games.

There is something I remember but I am trying to recall, if that is Sta Cruz of maybe another place but it feels like Sta Cruz because we passed by Half moon Bay. That was a Sunday morning and we had a lunch in a Mexican place and I ordered Buritto and had Hagen Daz Ice cream for my dessert. Sadly, the Mex and Cream did not mix well in my tummy and on the way home it caused a bit of a discomfort. I was able to hold it quite Ok and I even took a leak at that Gas Station after Half Moon Bay, that is a little commercial area there that also has a Popeye’s. I peed but a few minutes of getting back in the car, my stomach started to grumble and it was very difficult to hold it. Few minutes into my ordeal, Sam felt the same thing too. Once we got off the interstate we immediately stopped at MonteRosa because we can’t hold it for another 15minutes to get to Gilbert. Once we reached the driveway Sam and I raced to the bathrooms just right before it I (and Sam) soiled our pants… whew!

Bodega Bay

I was just browsing social media and I found a news about an accident in Bodega bay and instantly I was brought back when I was there in 2014. To jiggle my memory I search videos on youtbe about the place and to catch the places we visited. I saw a few familiar landmarks, I remembered the time I was there and for some strange reason, maybe it was due to my long afternoon nap, but I honestly felt I was there, reliving the past.

I distinctly remembered Bodega bay because on the morning we are going there we stopped by at a resto in Mountain View called CrepeVine and I ordered Bodega Bay and instantly it had become my go to food there. Bodega Bay sandwich is just a large serving of Tuna Melt with twister fries and I really loved it. That sandwich have become an anchor to remmeber the place.

After that breakfast, we travelled for a few hours to go there and I saw a quiet, quaint, peaceful little town, I love it. it is there you can see those massive rock formations on the ocean. I remembered I picked up a real big rock and threw it to the ocean down below.

Seeing the video and recalling my good ‘ol travel days brought a bit of a lump on my throat because I knew I will not see the place again and the people I went there with has moved on to other things. The Bodega bay news made me remember the fun times and also the sad part that things had already changed.
